simply he has never done us. the low-key friendly turkish producer with the unpronounceable name, has never made music for the hip all-together-happiness-floor. the man comes from jazz and blues. and at tolga baklacioglu means electronic music production to test the depths of house music. sometimes tricky, sometimes playful, sometimes psychedelic, but always deep. his tracks have often a length of eleven or twelve minutes. music takes time. prime-time music sounds different. and that is why we like him. and so tolga published with *feeling now and then* his fourth lebensfreude - ep. music that was heard up to buenos aires, where the argentine producer and dj violett (telegraph/unfoundsound/igloo) contributed a functionally magical remix. one thing we know. this time it will not be simple again. luckily.

after a well received debut release, aurour records returns with the second 12inch in the series by the italian trio we are mam (marco correnti, andrea blanco, marco celeri).

as a man well versed in the moves of the old-school, fabio monesi launches his albion imprint with the immaculately executed styles of 623, full of sexy 90s synth notes and crisp, pumping beats. washerman brings a more rugged style on his remix of the tune, dropping in some cheeky and thoroughly familiar samples, while the melody wobbles around an amorphous scale. the peephouse finds monesi reaching back to the soothing organ tones of the dx7, with a gentle and piano-driven throw down that stills carries plenty of heft for the floor. rio padice steps up for another remix of 623 and spreads a strange and nervous shape-shifter of a late-night jam, scattering the vocals like confetti and nudging the drums out of joint on a whim.

the son of a prominent nicaraguan politician, alfonso noel lovo was a choice target for the sandinista rebels who hijacked his homeward flight from miami in december of 1971, ultimately putting several rounds through the talented musicians torso and hand. after several years, and as many surgeries, he would break new ground on this psychedelic swirl of latin jazz and pan-american funk with his musical partner, percussionist jose chepito areas of santana fame. long unavailable, la gigantona has lived its forty years lost in the grooves of a single acetate. imagine a nicaraguan take on herbie hancocks afro-jazz masterpiece mwandishi with some of the most penetrating, left-field guitar youve never heard.

a fistful of wax is an extension for some very special projects of our beloved deep house skylax records sub – label wax classic. for this first release, we give you the opportunity to grab 5 fantastic trax done by some of the best deep house producers at the moment. a1 is done by the great girogio luceri whose been releasing some very hot tunes through jamal moss mathematics & runaways on the prowl labels. a2 is done by jamie trench one of the new hot producer made in london, his track sound very very garage & we loved it instantly. while on the b side we have again 3 bomb tracks featuring first on b1 jackmaster k who delivers clearly an anthem, it reminds us some of best house music made in uk (circa 91/92), this track could have been played by sasha & digweed or carl cox at shoom ! b2 is marcoradi , an italian producer who teamed up with the great nicholas on one his 4lux release. he also produced many remixes (erykah badu ect ...) & some 12 inches over the years. b3 is rio padice from rawax & housewax fame those tracks are all firmly rooted into the deep house sound (check the detroitian vibes of get back). they never settle into one comfortable, predictable groove. its heady, emotion-rich grooves include warm, melodic two-step and future garage flavas, dubwise slo-mo grooves. its eclectic, no doubt, but thanks to those guys warm production and heavy deep vocals, this release will put your hands up in the air marvellously.
